Operation Vestige nodes

Stage 6

Node Choices Node Choices
The girl traipsed around in the Cloud. It was yet safe, and in the distance clusters of flowers reared the earliest signs of blossoming.
The light was not yet risen, and the feline not quite awoken.
No clues as to what her mission might be, no route plans or maps. She contemplated her next action.
Stay put. She took to maintaining her weaponry, but waiting would not bring her any more information. Perhaps she should set about exploring. Head toward the flower.
Search for clues. It is necessary to make preparations for the road ahead, and she'll need more information. The cat looks as it's about to wake up. She stands up, proceeding into the horizon.
Node Choices
The girl counted her bullets. There was no need to replenish munitions in this realm, and one only needed to manipulate operands to fight.
The swans guided her path, haplessly encounter another's sharp fangs.
Gunfire, ringing out. A flower, cleaved apart by a bullet. Petals, embedding themselves in the girl's long hair.
Look for the flower petals.
Node Choices
The silk-like petals embedded themselves within, evading the girl's senses. Underneath the flowering bushes lied what remained of her mission, courtesy of the swans.
An ever-so-tiny compass, pointing towards a faraway library.
There are more important things to do.
Node Choices
Bullets and shells, footsteps and presences. In the Cloud, wounds of war fade.
The nitre in the air dissipates, leaving only the scent of flowers between the strands of her hair. She feels an imperceptible palpitation.
Her path to the library was strewn with shells and petals, clearing away before her feet.
This feeling...
Node Choices
The flowery aroma made her happy. Before undertaking this journey, her feelings had never been so meticulous, so acute. The girl looked inwards, confounded. She could not describe these feelings. Continue onward to the library.
Node Choices
The library's gates block the way, forbidding entry to all.
The girl drove away the drowsy doves. The avians here all bore white-feathered wings.
The library's doors opened themselves to her, the answers to everything under the sky stored within.
At one time or another, the flowers between her hair had bloomed. There was not a drop of alcohol to found in this realm, but she felt as if she was amongst the clouds.
This place is most definitely the "cloud server".
Node Choices
The library hid a great many secrets, illustrations of gorgeous flowers between the pages.
The girl's questions were soon answered - she gazed upon her very own story, the corners and infinitudes of this world.
The cat's silhouette, outlined by light, followed the girl's footsteps.
She had but one more answer she needed. She should return soon, answers now in hand.
Consult the library about the significance of the flower.
Node Choices
The flowers were gifts, meant for the swans. The library answers in kind, recording the girl's story. ...It's time to return the flower to the swan.
Node Choices
The girl departed from the library, hurrying back to the distant swan nest.
The flowery aroma grew intense, entwining the girl in its grasp. That ever-so-sweet-smell, ensnaring her, clinging and whispering at her side.
This scent can't get on the cat's fur. She ripped off a petal, placing it within her mouth.
Hide the flower's scent here.
Node Choices
Gradually, one could smell nothing other than the flowers.
Expectations against memories, principles against compulsions, trust against reliance.
The flowers swallowed the girl up, dragging her down and down, into a dreamy slumber.
She spoke, but no words came. The most youthful of flowers spouted forth from her throat, drowning the voice calling out for a certain name.
Where is the light?
Node Choices
Hidden in a safe corner, until the world was no more than a twirling vortex, light stripping away from matter. The girl tried, she tried, to find a way out of the garden. Where is the light?
Node Choices
The cat tore away the petals, light now piercing flowery shadows, extending from the ends of the floral sea.
To receive expectation, principle, and trust.
Receive the bullet. Receive the bullet. Receive the bullet.
Go into the light.

"That's right, I went on a dispatch mission with her once. Why are you asking, Miss Reporter?"
"Was there anything special about her... I mean, given your contacts, I'm pretty sure you know as much as I do, right? I'm just an ordinary battle-type agent. You should ask someone else who's more careful about these things."
"Well, if you really want to know, I think I heard her say something right before we took out that Entropic leader, what was it... Geronimo or something?"
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was it, that was the word. Still, I never asked her what it meant. If you're curious, you should go ask her yourself."
Is it a saying or an operational codeword? I should ask other people about this.
Node Choices

"Was there anything special about her? Hm... Well, when we deployed last time, our serial number was 404. I was all for using that as our team name, but Clukay insisted that we change it."
"I guess she didn't like that number much? Not like it meant anything to me. Then again, maybe it had a special significance to her."
"Willow, you're asking too much... Wouldn't it be quicker to just ask her directly? Huh? She didn't answer you?"
404... That's a very common error code, isn't it? Let's make a note of this!

"Actually, we had quite a lot to talk about! At first she wasn't too responsive, but as you know, I'm the sort who likes complaining to people."
"I remember I was talking about... Oh yeah, it was about how that dumbass boss of mine fired me without saying a word! She just sold me off at clearance prices! That's horrible, isn't it?"
"Clukay felt the same way too. (Sigh) The feeling of being abandoned really sucks... Maybe she's got a story of her own to tell."
Does such a strong Doll have times when even she feels depressed?
Node Choices
[Data Log:???]
"Clukay usually never goes near Gin's bar, but she doesn't seem like the sort who hates drinking. On the other hand, she probably loves it."
"She pitched in to help tidy up the drinks cabinet last time and she seemed to know all about the various kinds of beverages there, even without someone to remind her, especially when it came to beer."
"Oh, I remember now, she said something about quitting drinking or something. Though I don't know how much she can handle, someone had a lot of stiff drinks with her last time."
"But for some reason the other person looked really tired when they left... Could it be? Someone with Clukay's personality goes crazy when they get drunk?"
In any case, she's done a good job of staying clear of the demon drink.

"There's no doubt about it. She's got a military Doll's level of fighting power, and that isn't just reflected in her capabilities."
"As an enemy, she's a tricky opponent. As a friend, she's a potent ally. Of all the students I've taught, very few could stand up to more than a blow or two from her."
"However, her fighting style isn't exactly like a military Doll, or a modified civilian Doll... It's truly a mystery."
"If the techniques she learned could be applied to military special forces units, it would probably boost their combat power greatly."
But all she'll admit to is that she's a mercenary.
