The M99 is a semi-automatic anti-materiel rifle first introduced in 2005. It has since seen use by the People's Liberation Army Navy and Marine Corps in anti-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden, and has been seen in the hands of various rebel groups involved in the Syrian Civil War.

Design
According to Saru's words on Official Fan Book《THE ART OF GIRLS'FRONTLINE UNTIL THE STARS》, "Due to the busty characters outnumbered flat ones within the game, loli style was chosen for M99 (FOR WORLD PEACE). Red skirt with star pattern is refered to Chinese National flag. The triple-bar shoulder badge refers to the battalion leader of Young Pioneers of China in Chinese elementary school. After finishing found out that she looks like a rabbit, so then added bunch of rabbit puppet robots."
Since year 2017 is the year of Rooster in China, her Luna New Year skin Cyclamen has some element of chicken on the illust: chicken ear muff and broken egg (damaged illust).
The phone number on her Rabbit Squad is 110, which is Chinese Police emergency call.
Personality
According to the official introduction on the release, M99 is good at learning new things. As a role model of good manner, she's also very aggressive. But sometimes she's stubborn due to her less social experience, plus she is extremely cautious about her pride and appearance, which would often lead her to funny and annoying situations.

In night battle of Chapter 5, M99 leads SG Type 97 ShotgunType 97 ShotgunType 97 Shotgun, AR Type 56-1Type 56-1Type 56-1, HG NZ75 NZ75NZ75 to escort some supplies from a storage, which was attacked by SF, to a near by town. During the escort 3 members begin quarreling since they are all very hungry, and somehow old stories ignited their individual creed on food and cooking. Though they are interrupted by the sneak attack of SF, they still deliver the supplies successfully (The commander covered them for stealing a little bit of supplies to fulfil their hunger).
In order to meet the demands of the domestic and international markets, I, M99, was researched and developed for the world. Reliable performance, excellent accuracy, and cost-effective with just as high quality as my foreign counterparts, I may lack combat experience, but I must carry on!
Commander, you're willing to accept me in my current state? ...I thought I still had a long way to go...to meet your expectations...however, I won't be complacent! To return your trust, I'll have to work harder!
