Girls' Frontline: Glitch Land (少前譎境) was a game announced during the 2020 lineup of Sunborn along with Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium and Project Neural Cloud. Once a fan-project brought in-house by Sunborn,[1] the project was shelved and its main developer left Sunborn in early 2022.[2]
The game would have used a top-down JRPG pixel aesthetic and focused on puzzle solving. Branching paths for the story and a two-player mode were planned.[3] The trailer introduces a human researcher named Anna Katharine, a girl kept in a containment tank, as well as a new foe. The story blurb explains:
This story takes place in the world of Girls' Frontline.
During a secret mission, strong EM interference down the helicopter carrying AR HK416HK416HK416 of Squad 404 near a town abandoned to radiations. There, she meets a group of refugees, a former Sangvis Ferri researcher once declared dead, as well as the T-Dolls HG ThunderThunderThunder and SG M870M870M870. Following an uneasy sense of déjà-vu, HK416 decides to help them complete their mission...
