{{enemy name|Scout}}'s are the second machine type enemy the player will encounter in the game and will become the most annoying enemy to deal with throughout the game, a Scout is very notable for their high base EVA and low ~ moderate HP pool, causing great frustration to players who didn't optimize their echelons with ACC buffing T-dolls or equipment. Scouts dont pose a massive threat and they deal very little damage, however the difficulty in dealing with them is due to their high base EVA which can cause problems if said Scouts are being escorted by even more dangerous units such as {{enemy name|Jaeger}}'s, {{enemy name|Jaguar}}'s and {{enemy name|Dinergate}}'s.

Where Scouts go from simply being irritating to one of the most frustrating units in Girls Frontline is at night. The 90% accuracy debuff and the evasion of high-level Scouts means they will often be missed by virtually every attack your T-Dolls throw, except for those with blast ranges or which automatically hit. The late stages of Defense Drill are hallmarked by outright ''swarms'' of Scouts backed by increasingly big teams of Jaegers; very few squads are actually capable of weathering the assault without taking serious damage.
Which is the best tactic to use against Scouts depends on when you're fighting them. During the day, high DPS T-Dolls (ex. Hunting Impulse MGs) are often the best choice, alongside RFs. At night, or when dealing with high-level Scouts, evasion debuffers like {{doll name|FNP-9|HG|2}}, {{doll name|SPP-1|HG|4}} and {{doll name|MP-448|SMG|3}} should be given serious consideration. Piercing RFs like {{doll name|PzB 39|RF|4}} and {{doll name|JS05|RF|5}} are excellent for cutting through packs as well.

By far the most efficient choice, however, are SMGs with with Incendiary or Frag Grenade and Assault Rifles with High-Explosive Grenade, all of which do large amounts of AOE damage and can help whittle down the enemy formation before it can do too much harm. T-dolls such as {{doll name|Vivi|SMG|5}}, {{doll name|Sten MkII|SMG|4}}-MOD3, {{doll name|PP-19|SMG|4}} and {{doll name|KLIN|SMG|4}} are all exceptional T-dolls to use against Scouts, with {{doll name|FAMAS|AR|4}}, {{doll name|CZ-805|AR|3}}, and {{doll name|Type 56-1|AR|4}} being good secondary choices.
When fighting Scouts at night, T-dolls with perfect accuracy skills such as {{doll name|M200|RF|5}}, {{doll name|AS Val|AR|5|costume=costume2}} MOD and {{doll name|Type 4|RF|4}} are a major boon. Despite the unfavorable conditions, their skills bypass Scouts' evasion check and ensure a hit.

Gameplay

Scouts are the second machine type enemy the player will encounter in the game. By themselves Scouts dont pose a massive threat as they deal very little damage, however their high base EVA can cause problems for unprepared players if said Scouts are being escorted by more dangerous units such as Jaeger's, Jaguar's and Dinergate's.

While it isn't hard to deal with Scouts during the day, at night they become a dangerous foe. The 90% accuracy debuff and high evasion means that virtually every attack your T-Dolls throw, except for AoE attacks or perfect accuracy attacks, will miss. So equipping your T-Dolls with Night Battle Equipment is a must when dealing with Scouts. The late stages of Defense Drill are hallmarked by outright swarms of Scouts backed by increasingly big teams of Jaegers; very few squads are actually capable of weathering the assault without taking serious damage.

Which is the best tactic to use against Scouts depends on when you're fighting them. During the day, high DPS T-Dolls (ex. Hunting Impulse MGs) are often the best choice, alongside RFs. At night, or when dealing with high-level Scouts, evasion debuffers like HG FNP-9FNP-9FNP-9, HG SPP-1SPP-1SPP-1 and SMG MP-448MP-448MP-448 should be given serious consideration. Piercing RFs like RF PzB 39PzB 39PzB 39 and RF JS05JS05JS05 are excellent for cutting through packs as well.

By far the most efficient choice, however, are grenadier T-Dolls: SMG VectorVectorVector, SMG Sten MkIISten MkIISten MkII-MOD3, SMG PP-19PP-19PP-19, SMG KLINKLINKLIN, AR M4 SOPMOD IIM4 SOPMOD IIM4 SOPMOD II, AR HK416HK416HK416, AR StG44StG44StG44, AR Zas M21Zas M21Zas M21, etc; all of which are capable of doing large amounts of AOE damage and can help whittle down the enemy formation before it can do too much harm.

When fighting Scouts at night, T-dolls with perfect accuracy skills such as RF M200M200M200, AR AS ValAS ValAS Val MOD and RF Type 4Type 4Type 4 are a major boon. Despite the unfavorable conditions, their skills bypass Scouts' evasion check and ensure a hit.
